my baptism

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (The Great Commission-Jesus' last words after his resurrection)
I chose to believe, accept and follow Jesus Christ as a teenager. Since then it has been a journey of growth, set-backs, joy and fear. When I was faced with moving away from the only home I had ever known I was so scared of the whole prospect. Still, I felt a still small voice telling me to do it anyway, despite my fears. To simply surrender and jump in. It's been almost 5 months since we moved to Tennessee and I have never before had a time in my life where I could physically see this much of God at work in my life. Many times we will look back on years of our life and begin to see where God's purposes and plans for certain things begin to make sense. This time it hasn't taken years but mere minutes, days and weeks. As a response of obedience to the Lord of my life, I felt it was finally time to make the decision as a believer to be baptized. I had been baptized as a baby but I really believe that the bible teaches when we make the decision to become followers of Christ that we are to also take the step of publicly professing our faith and spreading it to the world.
So on Sunday, my husband baptized me in the name of our savior, Jesus Christ.
