they were having a sale

37 boxes of Speacial K Protein cereal later my husband has cleared out both Super Wal-Marts in Murfreesboro. We go through about 2 boxes of this stuff a week and so when Matt's dream finally came true and it went on sale for $1 off/box he bought every box they had. Yes, people, my husband bought 37 boxes of cereal. Does this suprise any of you?

my baptism

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (The Great Commission-Jesus' last words after his resurrection)
I chose to believe, accept and follow Jesus Christ as a teenager. Since then it has been a journey of growth, set-backs, joy and fear. When I was faced with moving away from the only home I had ever known I was so scared of the whole prospect. Still, I felt a still small voice telling me to do it anyway, despite my fears. To simply surrender and jump in. It's been almost 5 months since we moved to Tennessee and I have never before had a time in my life where I could physically see this much of God at work in my life. Many times we will look back on years of our life and begin to see where God's purposes and plans for certain things begin to make sense. This time it hasn't taken years but mere minutes, days and weeks. As a response of obedience to the Lord of my life, I felt it was finally time to make the decision as a believer to be baptized. I had been baptized as a baby but I really believe that the bible teaches when we make the decision to become followers of Christ that we are to also take the step of publicly professing our faith and spreading it to the world.
So on Sunday, my husband baptized me in the name of our savior, Jesus Christ.

come thou fount

phil wickham is playing here in murfreesboro in a few weeks and i really think i might need to go. ever since i heard one of his songs for the first time riding in the car with travis & brad on the way to williamsburg his music always makes me stop and worship, even if just for a second. i found this video of him singing this old hymn today and i think it is so beautiful.

prisoner of the Lord

i've gotten some scolding lately for not updating everyone on my life here on my little blog so here you go, a photo of me & the hubby on our honeymoon. what an update huh. i can't believe it's been almost 2 years already. so anyway, lots of things have been going on and lots of really good things that i promise i will get to on here eventually. but for now, here is my verse for this week. contemplating for this week what this REALLY means.
.
Therefore I, as a prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.
Ephesians 4:1 (NASB)
